The Belgium midfielder was dropped for the win over Viktoria Plzen along with captain James Tavernier, seemingly the players who irked manager Russell Martin during the Motherwell draw.
However, he has already shone his talents. That was particularly the case last season, a shining light in a difficult campaign.
Ferguson worked with him for three months and he was a big player for the interim boss, shining in wins over Fenerbahce and Celtic.
He is now tipping the 24-year-old for the very top and has set out the asking price the club should be asking for.

Ferguson told Go Radio: "Nico can play in the Premier League all day long.
"I worked with him for three months. He has all the attributes and is still at a brilliant age.
"He still has some things he needs to tidy up on, but he understands that. He's got an opinion which I liked.
"He's really interested and keen to learn. All day long he can play in the Premier League.
"Now, Rangers have got to be looking for big money for Nico. I am looking at £15million at least for Nico - and the rest!"
