A complete guide to Manchester United’s final pre-season outing
Manchester United face Fiorentina in their final pre-season outing before the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season. The Red Devils are currently in the middle of one of their most important pre-seasons in recent years as they look to bounce back from a dismal 15th place finish in the league.
Manager Ruben Amorim struggled to impress in the early honeymoon period after replacing Erik ten Hag mid-way through last season but has had time to now implement some of his methods on the team while also introducing a whole host of new signings including Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to help try and get the club back on track.
United’s match against Fiorentina offers fans a final taster of what is to come before things get underway for real against title hopefuls Arsenal on Sunday 17 August, and is likely to be the nearest thing to the team that we see on the opening day of the season. With that in mind, as the new campaign edges closer, we take a look at how fans can watch Manchester United’s friendly against Fiorentina.
When is Man Utd vs Fiorentina?
Manchester United will take on Fiorentina in their final pre-season clash on Saturday 9 August. Over 50,000 tickets have been sold for the Snapdragon Cup match at Old Trafford, kicking off at 12:45 BST.
United last faced Fiorentina on 15 March 2000. On that occasion Sir Alex Ferguson’s side ran out 3-1 winners with Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke and Roy Keane all getting on the scoresheet after Gabriel Batistuta’s opener for the visitors.
The Red Devils entered that Champions League campaign as defending champions but were ultimately beaten by Real Madrid in the quarter-final stage.
