Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has notched his first touchdown during his preseason debut against the Carolina Panthers.
Sanders got the start for the Browns in the preseason opener on Friday night and after failing to score over his first three drives of the game, Sanders finally got into the end zone.
The touchdown came off an assist from a Panthers turnover off a muffed point deep in their own territory. Sanders got the ball at Carolina's 10-yard line and went on to capitalize a few plays later.
The score came on a play-action fake from Sanders, who found wide receiver Kaden Davis in the end zone for a seven-yard connection.

With the score, the Browns tied the game at 7-7 and Sanders is 6-of-11 for 40 yards and one touchdown as of this writing. He also has one carry for 10 yards.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed that Sanders will get about 50 snaps in his exhibition debut, which means he'll play most of the game.
Sanders was drafted in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft by Cleveland after experiencing one of the most legendary slides in league history.
He is currently competing for the starting job with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.
Sanders is listed as fourth on the Browns' first unofficial depth chart of 2025, so he's got some work to do and isn't guaranteed a roster spot.
