Chelsea are in the hunt for more signings this summer ahead of the new Premier League season

Chelsea have delved into the market so far this summer to bring in the likes of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. They have the chance to sign more players before the end of the window on Monday 1st September. The London outfit also have the opportunity to let some individuals leave over the coming weeks as well to free up space and funds.

Enzo Maresca was picked as their head coach around 12 months ago after catching the eye at Leicester City. He guided the Blues back into the Champions League last season. The ex-Manchester City coach also won the Europa Conference League.

Chelsea agree personal terms with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho

Chelsea have ‘agreed’ personal terms with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. They have been working on a deal for the attacker over recent times. The Blues will now hold ‘talks’ over a fee with the Red Devils.

In this latest update, reporter Romano has posted on X: “Understand Alejandro Garnacho has agreed every detail of personal terms with Chelsea! Deal done on player side, he only wants Chelsea as revealed here since July. Talks with Man United about fee will follow soon. #CFC pursue both Garnacho and Xavi Simons, as revealed.”

Garnacho, 21, joined United back in 2020 following spells at Getafe and Atletico Madrid. He has since risen into the first-team at Old Trafford and has enjoyed plenty of game time over recent campaigns. The Argentina international, who has eight caps to his name, has made 144 appearances in all competitions for his current club and has scored 26 goals, 11 of which came last term.

Will Alejandro Garnacho suit Chelsea?

Chelsea could see Garnacho as someone to bolster their attacking department. If they can get a deal over the line, he would add more quality to their options at the top end of the pitch. He is still young and has potential to get better in the future.

His situation at United is up in the air and he appears to be have fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim. Moving to Stamford Bridge could provide him with a change of scene and a new platform to show what he can do. In addition, he may also feel that he has a point to prove.

The Red Devils handed him a new contract as recently as 2023. At the time, he said: “When I joined this incredible club, I dreamt of achieving my debut, playing at Old Trafford, scoring my first goal and winning trophies with this badge on my chest. I feel very proud and emotional to have experienced these moments already, together with my family who have supported me every step of the way.

“We are all humbled to have this chance to continue our journey at Manchester United and I have already begun to work on achieving the next set of targets and ambitions. “The manager and his coaching staff have helped me to improve in every way, and with their support, I am developing each day to help the team to be successful. I am relishing the future and can’t wait to create more special memories with this group, in front of our amazing supporters.”
