The academy at Manchester United has so many top talents that there are new superstar potential prospects emerging every year.

Every year, there are some youngsters who get their call-up to the first-team, while others are standout performers at academy level for practically the full season.

The 2023/24 season saw Kobbie Mainoo step into the first-team, while the academy had Ethan Wheatley and Ethan Williams dominating at youth level.

Last year, Chido Obi was rocketed to United’s first team, however the academy’s best player was Gabriele Biancheri as he scored a huge 25 goals for United at U18 and U21.

Manchester United look set to see another year of special young footballers emerging through the ranks, with Ruben Amorim’s list of three academy debutants expected to at least double over the course of the 2025/26 season.

However, with most of the tremendous U18 squad from last season are now too old, which sees 14-year-old JJ Gabriel involved, while United think Kai Rooney is equal to Gabriel. Despite these two names, it is another who has been establishing himself as a future star.

Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher has had excellent summer for Manchester United

So with the likes of Jack Fletcher likely to be in the running for a first team spot next season, it means that the academy needs a new hero, and Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher can be just that as he is proving this summer.

Ibrovic-Fletcher is one of Serbia’s biggest talents, and this summer having been promoted into the U18 side, he is proving his quality for Darren Fletcher.

During friendlies this summer, Ibrovic-Fletcher has been excellent for United, scoring plenty of goals in the pre-season games, showcasing why, playing out of position but having a real skill for scoring.

This impressive form continued on Friday for the Mladen Ramljak Tournament in Croatia, as Ibrovic-Fletcher scored the winner for United late in the 2-1 against Juventus’ U20 side.

Ibrovic-Fletcher is just 16, yet already looks the part, and is smart enough to shine in numerous positions, being a natural 10, but this summer catching the eye as the number nine.

With such red hot form, Ibrovic-Fletcher looks set to be his lead coach’s main man and if he continues at this level, there will be no stopping him.

Who are Manchester United’s U19 star attacking talents?

United have a strong but young team over in Croatia for the tournament this week, with the choice so far being successful with two wins from two.

Ibrovic-Fletcher is the starting striker while Rooney has looked physically ready for this level during brief cameos, with relentless running making him an excellent player to have in the team.

Samuel Lusale and Junior Brown seem to be the two preferred on the right, while on the left, Gabriel as not quite set the competition alight, but there is still time with the third game against Dinamo Zagreb on Saturday followed by a final.

Douka Nkoto is another youngster to be taking the step up this season into a young U18 team which has all the talent and ability in the world.

But while they are all exciting, Ibrovic-Fletcher is making a case for himself to be best.
