Manchester City are something of an unknown quantity heading into the 25/26 Premier League season.
Pep Guardiola’s men have often been the favourites heading into a new campaign; however, their underwhelming 24/25 season has cast doubt over their ability to win the Premier League, especially with Liverpool impressively strengthening their squad.
City have also addressed several issues over the summer, with the signing of James Trafford making it six new faces to arrive at the Etihad Stadium.
One new addition has Owen Hargreaves very excited to watch Man City, and the pundit believes the player could make a big difference in Manchester throughout the upcoming term.

Tijjani Reijnders will have a big impact on Manchester City
Following Rodri’s long-term injury at the start of last season, Man City suffered in the middle of the park, and it was clear heading into the summer that Guardiola needed to add more energy.
Tijjani Reijnders was brought in from AC Milan, and Hargreaves believes the Dutch star is exactly what the Manchester club needed ahead of the 25/26 campaign.

“This kid with Rodri in behind and him as an eight, and then whether Cherki or Foden as a 10, this kid’s got amazing energy, big, big lad as well,” Hargreaves said on TNT Sports’ The Breakdown show. “Can play, technically very good. I think all of a sudden now they have energy in that team.
“Last season, they looked flat. But this kid can get up and down. I think he’s going to give them so much. And as well, even in these positions [in the box], he’s a good finisher. He just passes that one. He has got the lot. Man City didn’t have a midfield player that could do this last season.”
Reijnders has already been welcomed into the Man City squad and seems to have fitted in very quickly. The midfielder is expected to have a big impact at the Etihad Stadium throughout the upcoming season, but the 27-year-old is not the only one who can make a difference.

Erling Haaland predicted to be the Premier League’s top goalscorer
Last season was Erling Haaland’s worst in a Man City shirt as the Norwegian superstar battled with injuries and struggled for form. Yet the striker came away with 22 goals in 31 Premier League matches.
When asked to predict who will finish as the 25/26 Premier League top goalscorer, Joe Cole was straight in with Haaland, which commentator Darren Fletcher agreed with.
Peter Crouch deliberated over Mohamed Salah and the Man City star, but opted for the Liverpool winger instead.
Others may join the race for the Golden Boot as the season progresses, but the two superstars are almost guaranteed to be in the running.
