Alan Shearer predicts where Man Utd and Man City will finish in Premier League in 2025-26

It is now less than a week before the Premier League campaign gets underway with Liverpool hosting Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday night in the season opener.

Manchester City make the trip to Wolves on Saturday, August 16 for a 5.30pm kick off as they aim to win back the Premier League title after seeing their four-year run of domestic domination come to an end last term.

Pep Guardiola has added several players to his squad and it is likely there will be some more exits from the club before the transfer deadline with Jack Grealish one big name on his way out of the club.

Meanwhile, Manchester United start the season with a tricky home clash against Arsenal. Ruben Amorim has significantly bolstered his attack with the signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko as the Red Devils look to put last season’s 15th-place finish well and truly behind them.

Ahead of the new season, Alan Shearer has made his predictions for where every side will finish. Telling Betfair, he said: “I think we’re in for another competitive season, and I can’t wait for it to get started. I’ve made my 1-20 predictions, but I'm sure that we'll need to revisit this at the end of August…”
