Brentford to provide ‘stiff competition’ to sign Brighton player – Move expected, Seagulls eyeing sale

Brentford are among the clubs in the picture to sign Brighton & Hove Albion’s Abdallah Sima this summer.

That’s according to Wiw Sport, who report Brentford have considered making a move for the 24-year-old.

The forward left Slavia Prague for Brighton in 2021 and is yet to make an appearance at The Amex as he’s been on loan at Stoke City, Angers, Rangers and Stade Brestois since then.

Sima is in his final year of contract and isn’t part of Fabian Hürzeler’s plans this season. Therefore, Brighton would love to collect a fee in this window, to avoid losing him as a free agent a year later.

Wiw Sport reports RC Lens are keen and have registered their interest with the Seagulls player’s entourage. However, they haven’t sent an offer to the Premier League club.

The outlet warns the Ligue 1 club that they will face ‘stiff competition’ from elsewhere.

The Senegal international can operate across the front three. His versatility and contract situation at Brighton have attracted interest from several clubs. This includes Brentford, Stade Brestois, FC Augsburg and VfL Wolfsburg.

Brighton are expecting around €8-10m, which is considered ‘too high’ by most of Sima’s suitors. This probably could be within the Bees’ reach.
