Towards the end of July, Tuttomercatoweb reported on Leeds United interest in Fiorentina’s Riccardo Sottil.
The winger spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan, where he struggled to make an impact. There have been some developments regarding the Italian and Sport Witness have been informed about them.
The 26-year-old is now nearing a move to Italian side Lecce, with sources explaining Leeds United made initial contact, and Torino had also come forward for the player.
Daniel Farke’s side didn’t go beyond a simple request for information and Lecce made a key move last night, and they are now set to sign Sottil on a loan deal.
Lecce do not have an option to buy the Fiorentina player permanently, but will pay a loan fee of €500k to the Florence club for the dry loan.
It isn’t known whether Leeds United attempted a loan or a permanent deal, but Sottil has also previously spent a loan stints at Cagliari and Pescara as well and after Milan, he is set for a fourth loan move.
