Newcastle United transfer postponed – Trip for medical detailed so exit faces wait

Odysseas Vlachodimos has played 45 minutes for Newcastle United since joining them from Nottingham Forest a year ago.

The Magpies have decided to let him leave and Sevilla have come forward to sign the 31-year-old on loan this summer.

On Friday, we covered claims from Spain that the La Liga club finalised an agreement with Newcastle and are sorting out the last details. It was also reported the stopper will travel between Friday and Saturday to Spain for medical.

A fresh report from ABC Sevilla says the Greece international won’t be arriving in Spain this weekend.

Sevilla have travelled to France to face Toulouse FC in their last pre-season friendly fixture on Sunday. They will return next week and therefore, the club have decided to postpone Newcastle man’s arrival.

The report points out the Spanish club have an agreement in place to sign Vlachodimos on a season-long loan deal. They don’t specific as to when he’ll travel for medical.

Onda Cero also reports Vlachodimos will arrive after Sevilla’s friendly against Toulouse. They further add he will travel to Spain on Monday to carry out medical tests and sign the contract with the La Liga club.

According to Onda Cero, Sevilla won’t have an option or obligation to make his loan stay permanent.
