Leeds United fans were surprised when Daniel Farke made some shock decisions at the start of training camp. Before the club set off to Germany, there were rumours that some players would not make the trip.
After the Whites’ first game against Manchester United, things started to become clear. Farke revealed that Patrick Bamford was not in his plans for the upcoming season. His reasoning was that the striker was almost never unavailable and that he could not count on him anymore.

The forward was linked with Real Betis and Girona initially. Both sides did not present good enough offers to Leeds. So the club managed to get the player a move to Mallorca. Joseph was spotted at the airport as he arrived in Spain to complete his deal.

The La Liga side finally revealed the player on Saturday. Mateo Joseph’s first words after completing his loan move were definitely interesting choices:
“I’m very happy, excited and looking forward to starting training, playing, meeting my teammates and seeing how everything goes.”
“With my agent, they told us that there is the possibility of coming here and the truth is that it was an incredible illusion. They presented the project to us and everything, and this is an ideal place to continue growing, to try to help the team and to continue improving.”
Player’s exit did not go down well with the club
One thing that is for sure is that Daniel Farke, and other Leeds officials will not be happy with how the situation was handled. Other players have left the club on loan for first team football, but parted ways in a professional way.
How Mateo Joseph has handled this situation all summer has not been great. Fans of the club will remember this when he eventually returns at the end of the season. Hopefully Leeds do not decide that his future at the club is over by then.
