Report: New club ‘test the water’ for Jack Grealish as Everton weakness comes to light

Jack Grealish joining Everton this summer would be a real statement from The Friedkin Group.

David Moyes would love someone with the winger’s qualities, as he would instantly become the star player in the squad.

Iliman Ndiaye is someone who might question the move, but the Scotsman will no doubt find a way to incorporate both players.

Moyes has put forward his plans for Grealish as the Everton boss certainly wants the 29-year-old next season, despite financial implications.

But it’s now not looking like wages are the thing standing in the Toffees’ way; instead, it’s newfound interest.

Atletico Madrid now want Everton target Jack Grealish

With Grealish debating his options, Everton would be the only club interested that would gift him this star role.

It’s said that Grealish has told his friends he wants Everton, as it’s a chance for his career to find a resurgence.

But according to the Daily Mail, there might be a more appealing option out there now, as Atletico Madrid have ‘tested the waters’ with a potential move.

It’s unknown whether the winger would favour a stay in England or leap at the chance to move abroad.

But there is no denying Atletico is an exciting prospect, and one thing might give the Spanish side a slight advantage over the Toffees.

The former Aston Villa man is leaving a club that is known for success, and despite his £100 million move not working out, he’s still won plenty of trophies.

Due to this, it’s a big step down to join a club like Everton, who are looking like a team on the rise but have nothing to show for it just yet.

Whereas a move to Diego Simeone’s side this summer presents the opportunity of Champions League football and gives Grealish the chance to show his £100 million value on the main stage.

Moyes will hope this isn’t the case, but Grealish has been ‘cautious’ of Everton’s level, which could put him off a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
