Chelsea have reportedly made a formal move for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho on Chelsea radar
Chelsea have turned up the heat in their chase for **Manchester United**’s star Alejandro Garnacho. Reportedly, Enzo Maresca’s side have put in an official enquiry and are now waiting on Man Utd’s response.
The **Blues**‘ head coach is keen to bolster his attacking options this summer. He hopes to bring in both Garnacho and RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons before the transfer window slams shut. Garnacho has found himself sidelined at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim. He could be available for around £40m.
Chelsea’s push for fresh faces comes as several current players prepare to move on. Maresca is showing little interest in those out of his main plans.
Jackson exit could spark the move
Nicolas Jackson appears to be a major candidate for a high-profile exit this summer. The forward signed a long-term deal just last year. Though, the forward had a mixed debut season and now faces added competition from two new signings.
Meanwhile, Newcastle appear front of the queue for his signature. Manchester United and Aston Villa have also shown interest. Chelsea value the striker at £80m. Jackson will likely be open to a move to St. James’ Park, no official discussions have taken place as of yet.
The possible sale could open the door for a plenty of moves. That is especially if United decide to pursue Jackson as a replacement for Garnacho’s exit. Meanwhile, talks continue for a £50 m deal for Dutchman Simons. He is currently with Leipzig ahead of a friendly in France.
On the outgoing side, Armando Broja will be joining Burnley. Chelsea’s summer activity is taking up pace. Multiple clubs are circling around with their players. Now, the weeks ahead could reshape their squad for the new season.
