Liverpool will wear their new away kit for the first time when they take on Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on Sunday. The Reds unveiled their new kits for the forthcoming season at the start of the month having sealed a 10-year partnership with German kit manufacturer adidas earlier this year, replacing the previous agreement with Nike.

Arne Slot's side wore the new home colours in both friendlies against Athletic Bilbao last Monday at Anfield.

And they will now their away kit - which is described as having ecru shirts and socks and black shorts - for the first time against Palace at Wembley.

The club announced on Friday more home and away kits had been sold in the past week than ever before, with the home kit outstripping sales of last year’s launch by more than 700%, with orders from more than 150 countries.

Liverpool take on Palace aiming to win the Community Shield - or, at it was previously known, the Charity Shield - for a 17th time, matching the total of Arsenal. Only Manchester United, with 21, have more.

If the score is level after 90 minutes, the game will go straight to penalties, and both clubs will be able to make a total of six substitutions from a bench of nine players.

Semi-automated offside technology will be used with in-stadium announcements for any decision on reviewed incidents, which will be made by referee Chris Kavanagh.

Wembley will also see a tribute to Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, who were both killed in a car crash last month. Wreaths will be laid in honour and memory of the pair before kick-off, and there will also be a period of silence just before the game starts.
