Manchester United managed a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina, eventually clinching victory in a penalty shootout during their final pre-season match on Saturday.
United paraded their four summer recruits and honoured David de Gea before the whistle, but the visitors were eager to rain on the parade, taking an early lead courtesy of Simon Sohm.
United quickly retaliated from a corner as Robin Gosens inadvertently knocked the ball into his own net under pressure from Leny Yoro and Casemiro.
Matheus Cunha nearly found the back of the net with a powerful strike in the second half, and Fiorentina rattled the crossbar, but neither team could break the deadlock, leaving the score at 1-1.
The match was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout, which United won 5-4, reports the Manchester Evening News.
