Everton’s new home will be at full capacity for the first time on Saturday when they play AS Roma.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium will be the home of the Toffees this season, after more than a century at Goodison Park.
The visit of Roma will also mark the final pre-season test for David Moyes’ side, before the Premier League opener next weekend.
Everton’s first match is away at Leeds United, but the first competitive match to be played at The Hill Dickinson Stadium will be against Brighton on 24 August.

Everton home TV camera view revealed
The first proposed plans for The Hill Dickinson Stadium were first revealed in July 2019, with the stadium set to be built on the banks of the River Mersey.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
More than six years later, the stadium is finally complete and ready for Premier League action, with Saturday’s (9 August) game against Roma set to mark the final test event needed for the appropriate safety licenses to be issued.
Goodison Park was undoubtedly an iconic stadium, but its age had required constant upkeep and it held a limited capacity of just over 39,000.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium will seat nearly 52,000 fans, making it the eighth largest stadium in England and the 11th largest in Britain.
Stadiums (England) Capacity
6. Anfield 54,074
7. St James’ Park 52,354
8. The Hill Dickinson Stadium 51,565
9. The Stadium of Light 48,707
Fans feared that Goodison Park would be knocked down following the move, but a club statement confirmed in May that it would become the permanent home of Everton Women from this season.
A post made by Tony Scott (9 August) via X ahead of the Roma game revealed the angle that would be used by cameras for Sky Sports’ coverage of games played at the new stadium, meaning this is the view millions of people will soon be getting familiar with.
Stadium opening marks a fresh start for Everton
This season feels like a fresh start in more ways than one for Everton. The Hill Dickinson Stadium will host the start of a new era away from Goodison Park.
And next weekend will kick off the first full season under the ownership of The Friedkin Group, who bought out Farhad Moshiri in December 2024.
Everton fans will hope the new season brings new reasons to be optimistic about the Toffees’ future.
For far too long now, one of England’s most historical clubs have found themselves battling against relegation fears, but this season presents a great chance to leave that in the past and build a new tomorrow.
