Jaime Foxx Channels Beloved Willie Beamen Role to Slam Shedeur Sanders Haters

The NFL world is buzzing over the spectacular pro debut of Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders. Sanders not only got his first start in preseason, but rose to the occasion with some fantastic throws.

In what is sure to be the talk of the town, Sanders ended his night with 14-for-23 attempts, 138 yards, two touchdowns, and a 106.8 passer rating. His performance in the game could lead to Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski rethinking his fourth-string placement.

Sanders spoke to the sideline reporter following his performance, stating that he was not happy with what he produced and that it was a "learning experience." He also apologized to his father, Deion Sanders, in what was a touching and humble moment.

With Sanders performing the way that he did and showcasing humility, it is more obvious why he already has a legion of fans. One such fan is actor Jaime Foxx, who channeled his beloved role of Willie Beamen from "Any Given Sunday" to offer pointed remarks at haters of the rookie quarterback.

Foxx plays Willie Beamen, a backup quarterback that is thrust into the world of superstardom when he takes over leading the offense.

Foxx posted a video online where he started off saying his signature line from the film, before boldy stating that people rooting against Shedeur "hate football."

"I hear what all y'all saying. My name is Willie, Willie Beamen. He the real deal ... now how y'all feel now? How y'all feel now? No matter what he do ... that man playing for his daddy. All you haters. If you hate Shedeur, you hate football," Foxx stated into his phone.

Foxx has a point in that anyone who is overly critical of what Sanders produced on the field might be considered a "hater." The rookie showed plenty of brilliance and command of the offense, throwing both of his touchdowns into tight windows for Kaden Davis.

Sanders also showcased some critical thinking when rifling off runs for first downs when the Carolina Panthers' defense came barreling down on him. He did make a few mistakes while holding onto the ball too long, or taking a costly sack.

Still, Sanders showcased the skills that could lead to him jumping up in the depth chart ahead of fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel and veteran Kenny Pickett.

There is far more football left to play, but if Sanders can continue playing like he did on Friday night, he might just be ready to start in 2025.
