Boston Celtics legend Bob Cousy doesn’t believe in Jaylen Brown’s ability to carry the Celtics without Jayson Tatum and believes a major rebuild is incoming in Boston.

With Jayson Tatum most likely out for the entire or majority of the season, and with two core pieces in Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, it looks unlikely the Celtics will compete for a high playoff spot and will have a down year with Jaylen Brown leading the way, with a possible rebuild attempt on the horizon.
Boston Celtics legend Bob Cousy is also raising questions about Boston's future and thinks a major rebuild is coming, doubting Jaylen Brown's ability to carry the load by himself.
"In my judgment, Jaylen is not quite at the superstar level Tatum is," Cousy stated in an interview with the Boston Globe.
"Can he carry the load by himself? I see a major rebuilding effort coming," he said.

Jaylen Brown was also involved in quite a few trade rumors throughout the offseason, but for now, his future with the Celtics looks stable, and he should be the one leading the Celtics next season.
Brown, 28, has been named to the All-Star team four times. He's set to earn $53.1 million next season after averaging 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 2024–25. He has spent his entire career with Boston.
