Newcastle United have been in contact with PSG and Randal Kolo Muani’s representatives over a potential move for the French forward.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Newcastle United are angling for a move for Randal Kolo Muani this summer as their latest striker target. The Frenchman might still be leaning towards re-joining Juventus; however, the likes of the Magpies and even Tottenham could sound out a move if a move to Turin does not materialise.
Randal Kolo Muani could be the next topic of discussion at Newcastle United as the club continued their search for a viable center-forward. Having suffered many rejections in their efforts to land a new No.9, the Magpies have now turned their attention towards the 26-year-old PSG flop.
PSG are open to letting him leave on their terms, with Newcastle United among other teams angling for a move in this window. Fabrizio Romano insisted that Juventus were still in active talks to sign the Frenchman after a decent loan spell in the second half of last season. However, PSG’s demands of £50 million permanently or a loan with a buy obligation in the same region have proved difficult for Juventus to agree upon.
Hence, the door is probably left open for Randal Kolo Muani to explore a move to the Premier League, as he was reportedly interested in playing in England back in January. Tottenham have already sounded out a move should they manage to offload the ineffective Richarlison; however, they will face a desperate Newcastle United in the race, as Eddie Howe continues to be frustrated without a new frontman.
Newcastle United have not found any level of success so far in their efforts to land a new striker, and Kolo Muani is only the latest name on their list. There are many elements to this transfer, more so convincing the player, importantly, than agreeing on the right terms with the Ligue 1 giants for the 26-year-old PSG flop.
Newcastle United’s striker search
Newcastle United recently failed with a move for Benjamin Sesko, who has since joined Manchester United. The Slovenian followed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike in snubbing the Magpies, who are now heavily linked with Nicolas Jackson and Samu Aghehowa.
Randal Kolo Muani could be seen in a similar vein, and should the Frenchman or any of the above-mentioned names arrive, it could open the doors for Alexander Isak to depart. As things stand, Juventus are still seen as the favourites to bring the 26-year-old PSG flop back to Turin, although Newcastle United may still stand a chance if he fails to join the Serie A giants.
