Buffalo opens its 2025 preseason schedule with its only home game inside Highmark Stadium.
The Bills are getting plenty of airtime this preseason on HBO’s “Hard Knocks”, though Saturday’s game will mark our first real look at how the Bills’ roster depth is shaping up.
Reigning MVP quarterback Josh Allen will rest his $250 million arm, giving backups Mitch Trubisky and Mike White the majority of the snaps.
Head coach Sean McDermott said earlier in the week most of the team’s other starters are expected to play for about a quarter.
Even that plan entails running out a patchwork lineup, as several projected starters have been in and out of the lineup throughout training camp, running back James Cook has been holding himself out of practice amid a contract dispute and top receiver Khalil Shakir is sidelined with a high-ankle sprain.
Cook is dressed for the game.
A friendly reminder to Bills fans: The team went 1-2 last preseason, didn’t score a touchdown in two of its three games and went on to come within a drive of the Super Bowl.
Former Syracuse quarterback Tommy DeVito is expected to suit up for New York, though it’s unclear how much playing time he’ll receive.
Russell Wilson will reportedly get the start at quarterback for the Giants, and most fans will be eagerly watching the debut of rookie Jaxson Dart. DeVito and Jameis Winston are the other QBs on the roster.
