Wolverhampton Wanderers have been offered the chance to sign one of English football's most impressive right-backs this summer, in the form of Coventry City star Milan Van Ewijk - with reports suggesting that the Sky Blues have offered Midlands rivals the Dutchman's services for a fee of £15million if they wish to take him off their hands.
Van Ewijk's two years at Coventry have been enthralling. Performances on the right flank have helped them qualify for the Championship play-offs and the FA Cup semi-final, where they narrowly lost to Manchester United in one of the most memorable Wembley games in living memory - and it's his performances in those games that have proven he could make the step-up to the top-flight.
Report: Wolves 'Offered' Chance to Sign Van Ewijk
Vitor Pereira
The report by Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse states that Wolves have been offered the chance to sign Sky Blues star Van Ewijk after impressing for the club over the course of his CBS Arena career.
The Championship side have offered the 'insane' £15million star to their west Midlands counterparts, and although a move doesn't appear likely as things stand with Wolves having 'other players above him in their list' in terms of summer signings, he's a target that could be acquired should Vitor Pereira feel the need to do so.
The situation could change, with Wolves in need of a right-back after seeing long-serving star Nelson Semedo depart for pastures new this summer, joining Turkish outfit Fenerbahce on a free transfer - and Van Ewijk's consistent performances in the second-tier could provoke a formal bid.
The Molineux outfit have signed Fer Lopez and last season's loan star Jorgen Strand Larsen for a combined £42.5million, whilst Colombian winger Jhon Arias and left-back David Moller Wolfe have joined to pad out their squad - but they've lost Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester United and Manchester City respectively, meaning replacements are needed, though there is money to spend.
Tommy Doyle, Nasser Djiga and Boubacar Traore have all departed on loan, whilst Pablo Sarabia and Semedo have gone through the exit door on free transfers and so bolstering their squad is a must.
Van Ewijk, 24, spent his developmental years in the Dutch lower leagues, getting his top-flight move in the summer of 2019 - and after two seasons each at ADO Den Haag and Heerenveen, he joined Coventry after being named in the Eredivisie Team of the Season in 2023.
