League rivals battling for Chelsea player– Blues can get fee they want

David Datro Fofana has played four games for Chelsea since joining them from Molde FK in January 2023.

Over the past two seasons, the Blues have sent the striker on loan to Union Berlin, Burnley and Göztepe.

The 22-year-old has already returned to Chelsea, where he has a contract until 2029. He could be on the move again as he has no future at Stamford Bridge.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who report the Club World Cup winners are looking to get rid of David Datro Fofana this summer.

OGC Nice have identified the Ivorian as a target to replace Evann Guessand, who recently moved to Aston Villa.

The Ligue 1 club are said to be advancing to try and sign the frontman in this window. It won’t be easy because of the west London club’s demand and Toulouse are also in the race to sign him.

Enzo Maresca’s side, according to L’Equipe, want to sell the player. The two French clubs are trying to find the right overall package to get this transfer over the line.

Nice, during initial discussions, have raised the possibility of signing David Datro Fofana on loan and covering part of his salary. Toulouse can pay his estimated price of €4-5m but are facing issues with the Ivorian’s salary.

It’ll be interesting to see how things progress with this case in the coming days.
