How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently
Enzo Maresca selected the following eleven on Friday. Filip Jorgensen was in goal with Malo Gusto at right back. Josh Acheampong and Trevoh Chalobah started as the centre-back pairing with Marc Cucurella at left-back. Moises Caicedo partnered Andrey Santos in an all-South American pivot.

Tyrique George got the nod on the left wing with Cole Palmer playing centrally. Estevao was the right-winger option with Liam Delap leading the line as striker. There were wholesale changes to bring on names like Genesis Antwi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Aaron Anselmino, Jamie Gittens, and others.
Chelsea Recent Form & Tactics
The Blue set up in their usual 4-2-3-1 that changes in possession to a 3-2-4-1 for build-up play. There was a new wrinkle with Palmer and Estevao given license to rotate which saw them switch between the wing and central areas a few times. The dominant win was a surprising return to action for Chelsea against a team who have played a number of friendlies alreay and should have been more fit. It was the kind of controlled outing that’s become commonplace this year as Maresca’s side look very difficult to beat on their day.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
There are a few injuries to worry about for the manager. Levi Colwill recently tore his ACL and will be a long term absentee, he is joined by Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile on the sidelines. Romeo Lavia’s status isn’t confirmed but he wasn’t in the squad for the most recent friendly and may not be healthy for this one either.
Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs AC Milan
The expectation is that almost everyone who started the most recent outing won’t start here. There’d be no need to play someone big minutes within 48 hours of their previous match. Between injuries and players left out of the squad there may need to be one or two who pull double duty but early substitutions can ease this burden.
