Benjamin Sesko is finally a Manchester United player.
Manchester United’s extensive scouting of Benjamin Sesko dates back seven years, dating back to his time at Domzale.
Sesko took another path in his career by joining Red Bull Salzburg, where he established himself before becoming a recognised goalscorer in the German Bundesliga at RB Leipzig.
Now, after signing for United, Sesko is tasked with making a name for himself in the Premier League.
Sesko will compete for a place in the team with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, unless the Dane leaves the club between now and the end of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old new signing is expected to lead the line, after previously proving himself in the Champions League at RB Leipzig. He will now aim to continue his development as a top striker at Old Trafford.
However, United had to fight off interest from Newcastle for Sesko’s signature.
After signing a five-year contract at United, Sesko becomes the latest signing to join Ruben Amorim’s squad.

RB Leipzig send emotional message after losing Benjamin Sesko
Sesko is a red. United fans can now celebrate that as a fact following today’s eagerly awaited announcement.
It sets everything up nicely for the new season and there is still a possibility that United will make more signings, granted they can get rid of a few unwanted players.
Saying goodbye to players can be difficult, but not when they don’t want to be at the club, with Alejandro Garnacho agreeing personal terms with Chelsea this week.
It’s difficult for RB Leipzig to lose a talent like Sesko because it means they now need to go unearth the next gem in European football.
Leipzig took to social media following the announcement and asked United to take care of Sesko.
They also warned Premier League clubs to ‘buckle up’ ahead of Sesko’s arrival.
Transfer of Sesko’s dreams
Sesko was quick to react to the news on social media, too.
The 22-year-old striker explained that he has always dreamed big, and now he is getting the opportunity to step into that dream.
It shows that Sesko was never serious about joining Newcastle.
