Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in the Liverpool attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott.
The 22-year-old is expected to be on the move this summer. Liverpool will not be able to provide him with regular football, and he needs to play more often. Along with Tottenham, German club RB Leipzig are interested in securing his signature as well.
Spurs could use the Liverpool star
The England youth International is a tremendous talent with a bright future, and he could prove to be an exceptional long-term investment for Tottenham. James Maddison is currently sidelined for several weeks with ACL damage, and they need an attacking midfielder.
Elliott could be the ideal fit for them. He is well settled in English football, and he has shown his ability during his cameos with the Premier League champions.
He’s capable of operating on the flanks as well as centrally. He will help create opportunities for his teammates and score goals as well. Regular football at Tottenham could bring out the best in him and help him fulfil his potential.

Meanwhile, Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Tottenham will have to pay £50 million for the midfielder if they want to sign him without a buyback clause included in the contract. Alternatively, they could sign him for £40 million if they allow Liverpool to include a buyback clause in the contract. It will be interesting to see what they decide.
“Reluctantly, Liverpool would consider letting Elliott go for the right fee”, he told Football Insider.
“There’s been talk of £40million plus a buy-back clause, or a £50million fee without a buy-back clause.”
Ideally, Tottenham should pay the extra money to get rid of the buyback clause. They will not want to develop the player over the next couple of years and lose him to a rival in future because of the clause.
