After two years at the club, Inigo Martinez has left FC Barcelona, it has been officially confirmed. He will join Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
The 34-year-old centre-back arrived as a free agent in 2023, after his contract at Athletic Club expired. Having endured a mixed debut season under Xavi Hernandez, Inigo turned things around in the previous campaign with Hansi Flick at the helm.
Indeed, the veteran defender was one of the most important players for Barcelona as they won the domestic treble last season, forging a brilliant partnership with young Pau Cubarsi at the heart of the defence.

Inigo had signed a new contract with Barcelona earlier this year, committing to the club for one more season.
However, there was a clause in the agreement that would allow the Spaniard to leave for free if a lucrative proposal from Saudi Arabia came along, and that is what has happened.
Inigo leaves Barcelona as a free agent after terminating his contract. While the Catalans do not receive any transfer fee, they will save a significant sum in terms of salary space from the veteran star’s exit.
Even though he was there at the club, Inigo made a big impact at Barcelona and endeared himself to the fans. Now, he begins a new journey at Al Nassr.
