Donnarumma rumour: PSG show 'firm interest' in goalkeeper as talks ‘intensify’

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly shown concrete interest in Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen amid speculation that Gianluigi Donnarumma could leave.

PSG were able to finally win the Champions League at the end of 2024-25 after beating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final in May, claiming the European title for the first time in their history.

Manager Luis Enrique was able to win the tournament due to revamping his squad, filling his team with younger players rather than big-name superstars.

A key part of his XI was goalkeeper Donnarumma, but despite his excellent performances for the French side, the shot-stopper has been linked with a move away given he has just a year left on his contract.

Fichajes claim that PSG could intensify talks to sign Barca's Ter Stegen, and after signing Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, the Barcelona man's arrival would likely signal the club's intention to move on from Donnarumma.

Should Manchester United sign Donnarumma this summer?

Manchester United have completed an overhaul of their forward line, with the signings of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Seko adding considerably to Ruben Amorim's options.

The United boss does not boast as strong a squad in other areas of the pitch, especially in goal with current shot-stopper Andre Onana.

Onana has frequently faced criticism for his performances between the posts, and the team have been linked with replacements such as Senne Lammens of Royal Antwerp.

If the club are to challenge for the Premier League's European spots, then Donnarumma would be a wise investment.

Should Chelsea sign Donnarumma as a Robert Sanchez replacement?

Chelsea could also have need of the 26-year-old considering Robert Sanchez has been inconsistent at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues' number one is expected to start the campaign as Enzo Maresca's first choice, but there are concerns amongst supporters that he could be a weak point in the coming campaign.

Donnarumma has significant experience at the highest level of football, and he could also be an affordable option for the Londoners given his contract situation.

The Italian goalkeeper may be able to give Maresca's side the push they need to finally challenge for the Premier League title, something they have not won since the 2016-17 season.
