Darien Lewis committed to North Carolina in July, choosing the Tar Heels over offers from North Texas, UNLV, TCU and Texas State. With that commitment under his belt, the three-star Amarillo (Texas) Palo Duro safety is happy to put the pressures of a young student-athlete's decision behind him and focus on his senior year.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Lewis is ranked by 247Sports as the class of 2026's No. 133 safety nationally and No. 193 overall prospect in Texas.
North Carolina captured his attention early and landed him after he officially visited Chapel Hill. Though North Carolina has a lot to offer, the staff pushed development under a top-notch staff, and that won his commitment.
