Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer.
The Red Devils have Andre Onana as their number one, but the Cameroon international has made several mistakes over the last two years.
It is clear that Ruben Amorim would like an upgrade over Onana, which is why Manchester United tried to sign Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa on loan earlier in the window (Sky Sports).
Now, the door has opened for them to sign an even better goalkeeper than the Argentine.
Ruben Amorim and Manchester United will be delighted with PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma decision
Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at PSG is up in the air.
The Italian was one of the biggest reasons why the French side won the Champions League last season. He made some unbelievable saves, especially against Arsenal in the semi-finals.
However, as TBR Football revealed in July, Lucas Chevalier has joined PSG, and that is bad news for the former AC Milan man.
TBR confirmed on Saturday that PSG have told Donnarumma that he will no longer be their first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the start of the new season.
The 26-year-old has rejected multiple contract offers from the Ligue 1 winners, with his current deal expiring at the end of next season.
That is excellent news for Amorim and Manchester United, who have held talks to sign Donnarumma in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Signing a world-class goalkeeper like the Italian is never easy, but the Red Devils should be delighted now that they have a window of opportunity to land him after he has lost his number one spot in Paris.
Donnarumma would massively improve United if they could get him.

Manchester United should go all out to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma
Onana is capable of pulling off incredible saves, while his ability with the ball at his feet is unquestionable as well.
However, as we have seen over the last two seasons, the Cameroonian is prone to mistakes and should be upgraded by the Red Devils.
Donnarumma, who has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or, is a better all-round goalkeeper than Onana, and United are right to consider him.
Yes, the overall package will be expensive, but we think Amorim should instruct the decision-makers at the club to go all out for the Italian, who is still only 26 years old.
If United can get him, we think Donnarumma could be their number one for the better part of the next decade.
