Darwin Nunez has left Liverpool

Darwin Nunez has completed his move from Liverpool to Al-Hilal for a deal worth £46.3millon plus bonuses, the club has confirmed. The forward spent three years at after joining from Portuguese side Benfica for an initial fee of £64m.

He scored 40 goals in 143 games for the Reds, helping Arne Slot's men win the .

However, he managed just eight league starts last term and has now sealed a move to Saudi Arabia. Nunez joins Ruben Neves, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Theo Hernandez and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at the Kingdom Arena.

Liverpool confirmed the deal in a statement on Saturday night. It included: "The 2024-25 term turned out to be his final one with the Reds, and he would complete his career on Merseyside by hoisting the Premier League trophy aloft.

"Nunez's pair of stoppage-time finishes to snatch victory away at Brentford in January was an undoubted vital moment and highlight of the historic season.

"Everybody at the club would like to thank Darwin for his contributions and wish him and his family all the best for the future."

Nunez's exit comes after Luis Diaz completed his move to Bayern Munich. Liverpool have now raised significant fees for both forwards and have free roam to make a move for Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle United striker is at the top of the Reds' transfer shortlist and despite signing Hugo Ekitike, a move for the Sweden international has not yet been ruled out before the window closes.
