Liverpool FC have confirmed that Darwin Nunez has completed a permanent move away from the Merseyside club.

Transfers are part of football.

Players arrive, make their mark, and sometimes move on.

It’s not always about poor form or lack of opportunity, sometimes it’s about a new challenge.

In recent years, Liverpool fans have seen familiar faces leave after memorable seasons, often with trophies to their name.

This summer is no different.

Darwin Nunez’s time at Anfield has been eventful.

He has produced decisive goals, played in title races, and lifted silverware.

He has also been part of some high-pressure moments that changed games.

For Liverpool, it’s always about competing at the top, and for a player, it’s about leaving a legacy.

Now, after three years with the Reds, Nunez is moving on.

Liverpool FC confirmed that Darwin Nunez has completed a permanent transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, subject to international clearance.

The Uruguayan departs after making 143 appearances and scoring 40 goals for the club.

He leaves with a Premier League winner’s medal and a Carabao Cup medal, among other honours.

Nunez joined from Benfica in the summer of 2022.

He scored on his competitive debut to help Liverpool beat Manchester City in the FA Community Shield.

In his first season, he scored 15 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions and was twice named the club’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month.

He improved his tally the next season, scoring 18 goals, including two late strikes off the bench at Newcastle United that turned a defeat into a victory.

His final season was historic, ending with Liverpool lifting the Premier League trophy.

One of his standout contributions was two stoppage-time goals at Brentford in January, a key moment in the title run-in.

Liverpool’s statement read, “Everybody at the club would like to thank Darwin for his contributions and wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
