Oscar Bobb makes big Tijjani Reijnders claim right after Man City's 3-0 win vs Palermo

Tijjani Reijnders was the star of the show for Manchester City in their 3-0 victory against Palermo.

Pep Guardiola’s decision to bring the Dutchman on in the second-half was vindicated as he scored a brilliant brace to cap off a successful outing for City.

Tijjani Reijnders showed flashes of Ilkay Gundogan with both of his goals, arriving late into the box and taking both of his strikes expertly.

While new signings such as James Trafford, Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri all started against the Italian side, it was the former AC Milan maestro who grabbed the headlines.

Oscar Bobb says Tijjani Reijnders is ‘world-class’ after Man City vs Palermo

During his time at Manchester City, Oscar Bobb has played with plenty of elite players.

Bobb idolises Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden and with the summer additions of Reijnders and Cherki, he has two more top-class midfielders to learn from.

The youngster commented on the new signings via Manchester City’s official website after the contest, saying: ““Great. Marcus [Bettinelli] is not here. The others are. It’s been great.”

“It’s been a pleasure playing with them. The two Rayans, Tijjani, they are world-class players.”

Tijjani Reijnders’ heroics vs Palermo should worry Liverpool and Arsenal

Bobb’s claim after Manchester City’s victory goes to show how brilliant a signing Reijnders could prove to become.

Considering Manchester City signed Reijnders for just £48 million, the fact that he already looks tailor-made in Pep Guardiola’s system should worry both Liverpool and Arsenal as the Sky Blues’ title rivals.

With Guardiola having a track record of improving midfielders and the 27-year-old already being a top player, he could hit unseen heights in his game under the Catalan’s tutelage.

Considering how much of an all-rounder Reijnders is, being a goalscorer, technically excellent and a brilliant passer, he could potentially prove to be City’s trump card in the title race next season.
