3. Baltimore connection
Sharpe reunites with Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz, with whom he has a prior connection with from his days in Baltimore.
When Hortiz was the Ravens Director of Player Personnel in 2021, the team added Sharpe to the practice squad. He played three games for the Ravens, all at right tackle.
Sharpe then spent the 2022 season on the Ravens practice squad.
4. Playing experience
The 29-year-old has seen his fair share of game action in the league.
Sharpe has six games of starting experience, but has played in 45 games throughout his NFL career. He started four of those games across his two stints with the Raiders and also two in Washington.
He saw his most action as a member of Washington as he played in 10 games for them in the 2020 season.
Sharpe has played a total of 662 offensive snaps, with most of them coming at right tackle, but also some left tackle. He has 160 special teams snaps as well.
5. SEC tackle
Prior to his NFL career, Sharpe was holding down the left tackle spot for the Florida Gators.
Sharpe worked his way into action as a true freshman in 2014 before assuming the starting role in 2015 and starting 13 games.
He was one of the two Gators to start every game for the school in 2016, as he finished his collegiate career with two appearances in the SEC Championship Game.
