Justin Fields played one drive in the Jets' preseason opener vs. the Packers, and he made the most of it. Leading the Green & White on 10-play, 79-yard possession, Fields culminated his night with a 13-yard scoring run with 8:52 left in the first quarter.
Fields hurt the Packers repeatedly in the middle of the field, showing poise in the pocket and taking what was available. After two Breece Hall runs, Fields converted a third-and-5 with a 6-yard toss to WR Tyler Johnson. Two plays later, Fields went to FB Andrew Beck over the middle for 12 yards. Following a cutback run from Braelon Allen, Fields got 24 more yards after a short delivery to Beck.
After a couple runs including a Fields' scramble for 1 yard, the Jets faced a third-and-5 at the GB 13. Receiving the shotgun snap, Fields felt edge pressure and stepped up and saw green. His decisive cut to his right left a Packers defender to a diving tackle attempt with nothing to show for it. Fields got past the pylon and celebrated in the end zone.
