LAMBEAU FIELD, Wis. (WBAY) - The Packers faced off against the New York Jets at Lambeau Field on Saturday evening, kicking off their preseason with a loss, and fans had a lot to say about the team’s performance.
Fans walked into Lambeau Field with high hopes for the Packers’ game against the New York Jets Saturday evening, and no matter the outcome, they’re still riding for this team.
“Truly, I do feel we are going to go a long way this year, and I’m confident in our squad this year,” says Colton Callesen of Green Bay.
With the team showing a lot of issues on both sides of the ball, some fans aren’t too worried because it’s preseason.
“I guess it’s mid because it’s preseason, but we’re not doing so good. So, I don’t know, it’s not the best, but it’s not that bad,” says Jerry Hoyer of Appleton.
But one thing fans say the biggest issue is figuring out who will be WR #1.
“I feel like they draft people and then they don’t really produce to, like, a high standard of a receiver 1. But I feel like receivers, we get that down and we get the offense moving, and Jordan Love, he’s electric, then we should be good,” says Zaire Russell of Green Bay
If there’s one player coming in with some of the highest expectations, it’s first-round draft pick wide receiver Matthew Golden. Fans were eager to see what he could do.
“I see a lot of potential in Matthew Golden. I really do think that he’s going to be a star player, and I think he’s going to be a big role in our NFL roster,” says Callesen.
Even with a rocky performance and it only being preseason, fans believe there’s still plenty of room to grow, and they’re still optimistic for the future of this team.
