Manchester United drew 1-1 with Fiorentina before winning a penalty shootout in their final pre-season game of the summer.
United's pre-season schedule has consisted of challenges against Leeds, West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton, before a final pre-season outing against Fiorentina at Old Trafford.
Fiorentina took the lead early in the first half through Simon Sohm, who was unmarked from a corner. United quickly responded thanks to a Robin Gosens own goal, but the game ended 1-1.
A penalty shootout followed which United won 5-4 to lift the Snapdragon Cup.
Here are some of the talking points and moments you might have missed from the game:
Excitement over new signings
The signing of Benjamin Sesko was announced on the morning of the Fiorentina friendly. United agreed a €76.5million (£66.4m) and €8.5m (£7.3m) in add-ons deal to sign Sesko from RB Leipzig, despite competition from Newcastle, and he was introduced to the Old Trafford crowd before kick-off.
There is nothing more exciting for United fans than a multi-million pound signing being unveiled at Old Trafford ahead of a new campaign.
Sesko was unveiled alongside Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Diego Leon. The four new signings were photographed in the centre circle and there was real buzz in the stands.
United have overhauled their forward line in a single window and the prospect of Cunha, Mbeumo and Sesko combining is an exciting one. United scored just 44 league goals last term, and it's a problem they'll hope to have solved.
Mbeumo's embrace with Amorim
Mbeumo's first appearance for United in the US was delayed. He finally started in the last Stateside friendly and it was encouraging to see him play over 70 minutes against Fiorentina.
The 26-year-old has been gradually getting up to speed after training on his own with Brentford while his United transfer was being finalised.
Despite not being at peak fitness, Mbeumo looked sharp against Fiorentina and that bodes well for the season ahead. He received an embrace from Amorim when he was substituted and will be a force to be reckoned with when he is 100 per cent fit.
Brilliant reception for De Gea
It was heartwarming to see David de Gea receive such a brilliant reception when he emerged to warm up, with the goalkeeper returning to Old Trafford for the first time since leaving the club in the summer of 2023.
De Gea made 545 appearances at United, won the Premier League title, the FA Cup, two Carabao Cups and the Europa League.
De Gea is a modern club legend and thoroughly deserved to be honoured ahead of kick-off. Bruno Fernandes handed over a gift from the club and he looked overwhelmed as Alan Keegan (the voice of Old Trafford) read out his achievements.
De Gea's tribute was heartwarming.
The new corner routine
Carlos Fernandes has been in charge of set-pieces since Amorim's appointment in November and he's a presence on the touchline whenever United have a set-piece
So what has Fernandes been working on throughout the summer? United have added Mbeumo, whose deliveries are excellent, and it's no surprise that a new corner routine was on show on Saturday.
Shortly after United equalised, they came close to taking the lead through Leny Yoro. Mbeumo was responsible for playing the ball into the box after linking up quickly with Amad.
Mbeumo played a short corner to Amad, who returned the ball, and that created a better angle for a delivery. Yoro almost scored from the ball into the box and it's a routine we can expect to see more of.
Martinez closing in on a return
Lisandro Martinez is still recovering from the ACL injury he suffered against Crystal Palace in February. Martinez has been on an individual programme at Carrington and is progressing with his recovery.
The defender travelled to the US to be around the squad during the tour. He was in the directors' box at half-time against Fiorentina, taking time to greet fans as they took selfies with the United star.
Martinez has suffered a number of different injuries during his three years in Manchester but he remains a popular figure.
