Fans head to State Farm Stadium in triple-digit temps for first preseason game

**GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily)** — The Arizona Cardinals opened the 2025 preseason with a win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night at State Farm Stadium.

Temperatures in Glendale reached as high as 111 degrees before kickoff, but that didn’t stop every fan from coming to the parking lot hours before kickoff to tailgate.

“I’ve never done it before, so I told (the person I was with) that was exactly what I wanted to do, if we were going to the game, was to tailgate first,” said one Cardinals fan.

Paramedics with AMR did tell Arizona’s Family that they responded to multiple heat-related calls around the stadium before kickoff.

The next home game at State Farm Stadium will be another preseason game on Aug. 23 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
