Leeds United told price tag to land ‘Brenden Aaronson Upgrade’ this Summer

Leeds United new boy, Anton Stach, scored in their 1-1 draw against AC Milan on Saturday, but there was a distinct lack of creativity in the final third. The Whites are in the hunt for attacking reinforcements in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Daniel Farke has stressed the importance of Leeds bringing in attacking reinforcements, especially a striker, before the transfer window closes on September 1st. The Whites are short in the final third and need the goals and creativity to survive in their first season back in the Premier League.

Apart from a number 9 who is good enough to lead the line for a Premier League team, the Whites are also looking to add a left-winger and a versatile attacking midfielder, who will be an upgrade to Brenden Aaronson in the team.

Leeds have been in talks with Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss, and have also been linked with an interest in several other number 10s, both in England and abroad.

Leeds United have been told the price tag for Getafe’s Christantus Uche

Leeds are worried about Aaronson ahead of their return to the Premier League. He was woeful previously in the top flight, and concerns about his physical ability to handle the Premier League’s intensity remain.

The Whites have been considering several attacking midfielders, and Getafe’s Christantus Uche is one of the players the club have been monitoring.

He is a physical presence in midfield who can also create and score goals. Leeds have been weighing up making a move for him this summer.

According to AS via Sport Witness, Leeds have been told the price they need to pay to sign the midfielder from Getafe.

The Spanish club want a deal worth £21.65m before they are prepared to sanction Uche’s sale in the ongoing transfer window.

As things stand, Leeds do not agree with that figure and will try to negotiate down that asking price in the coming days.

However, Getafe are aware that the Nigerian midfielder is in demand, and want a premium fee before agreeing to let him go this summer.

Leeds are leaving it too late in the transfer window

It was evident from their performance at Elland Road on Saturday that Leeds need a new striker and a number 10 who can handle the Premier League’s intensity.

Farke has made it clear that without attacking reinforcements, his squad cannot be termed Premier League ready, and he is absolutely right.

The recruitment team deserve credit for building a solid base in defence and midfield for the team, but they are leaving it too late for comfort to add the attacking players.

Leeds will have to pay the big money required for players in the final third, and they cannot afford to penny pinch. The cost of not getting a striker and a number 10 of required quality will be far greater than the extra millions they may have to pay now.
