Andre Onana is “confident” of making his return from a hamstring injury for Man United’s opening Premier League fixture, according to reports.
The Cameroon international has not played in any of the club’s pre-season games, with Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton having taken the gloves.
However, Onana has been in light training for quite some time, and the Manchester Evening News say there is a good chance that he will be named in goal to face Arsenal next Sunday.

There was hope that the 29-year-old could feature against Fiorentina yesterday, but that game was deemed to come too early for his comeback.
Latest Man United injury news
Joshua Zirkzee has been pictured back in training. The Dutchman picked up a knock a few weeks ago and, like Onana, has not featured in any friendlies.
Noussair Mazraoui sustained a hamstring injury and has not played since the first pre-season match against Leeds back in mid-July. There is no indication as to when he will return to full fitness.
Lisandro Martinez is some distance away from featuring for the first team again. The Argentinian international suffered an ACL injury against Crystal Palace back in February.
Extensive rehabilitation is required, and the usual recovery period is around nine months. That suggests the centre-back is still a long way away from playing.
Of course, some are able to get back fit quicker than others, but Martinez is likely to miss, at the very least, the first 9 or 10 league matches.
In his absence, Ayden Heaven and Luke Shaw are set to be given plenty of minutes on the left-hand side of the back three. Heaven’s emergence since joining from Arsenal in January has been one of the few positives since Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford.
