Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal agree Eze deal; Isak to Liverpool twist; Man Utd get Beleba boost; Chelsea latest

Targets: Carlos Baleba, Eberechi Eze and Alexander Isak are wanted men

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all looking to seal big-money signings as they get ready for the start of the new Premier League season. United unveiled Benjamin Sesko at Old Trafford on Saturday and are now plotting a move for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba as they bid to offload Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.

Eberechi Eze remains a dream target for Arsenal, who are said to be closing on a deal for the Crystal Palace star. His £68m release clause expires next week and the Gunners are also exploring a loan move for Rodrygo.

Chelsea are leading the race to sign Garnacho and will re-enter the market for a centre-back after Levi Colwill suffered a serious knee injury. Tottenham are targeting a creative player after losing James Maddison to his own serious knee injury, and have interest in Nico Paz. Liverpool have sold Darwin Nunez to Saudi Arabia and their pursuit of Alexander Isak appears to be entering a crucial stage, with Newcastle adamant their star striker will be sold. Newcastle have told Alexander Isak that he is not for sale and Liverpool are said to have identified an alternative target.

In a major twist to one of the transfer sagas of the summer, Newcastle’s Saudi owners have made it clear Isak will not be allowed to join Liverpool.

Liverpool have reportedly been “made aware of Newcastle’s refusal to consider a sale” and are now looking at alternative options, with fresh reports from Caught Offside claiming they are interested in Brentford striker Yoane Wissa.

Wissa, who has been linked with Newcastle and has been trying to force through an exit from Brentford, is valued at £50million after scoring 19 Premier League goals last season.

United have opened talks with AC Milan over a loan deal for Hojlund, with the Italian giants ready to pay a £5.1million loan fee in a deal that will include an option to buy the striker next summer for £39m.

Hojlund has been told he can leave United and was an unused substitute in their friendly against Fiorentina on Saturday, raising further doubts about his future at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorin has identified the Brighton midfielder as his next transfer target after United sealed a deal for Benjamin Sesko.

Fresh talks between United and Baleba’s agent are said to have taken place on Saturday and Fabrizio Romano says his contract “won’t be a problem” for United”.

“The player is not closing the door to Manchester United,” said Romano. “From what I feel, the club want to try. The contract is a topic that will not be a problem. For sure, it is an interesting situation.”

Arsenal look to be closing in on the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, with fresh reports now claiming there is only one element of the deal left to be finalised.

Financial terms have been agreed between the two clubs, with FootballTransfers saying Arsenal will pay £30million up front of Eze with a further £25m in add-ons.

The report says talks are still taking place over the structure of the remainder of the instalments but that “this is not thought to present a major sticking point”.

The only thing holding up the deal is said to be Palace’s desire to sign a replacement for Eze before selling him.

Isak is currently training by himself after taking no part in the club's latest pre-season fixtures against Espanyol and Atletico Madrid. This is after missing the Magpies' tour of Asia amid links to Premier League champions Liverpool.

Asked after Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Atleti at St James' Park if he may have to let the player go, Howe said: "That's a decision that I won't make, that will be for other people to make.”

Fabrizio Romano claims Milan will have to pay Manchester United a £5.1million (€6million) loan fee, cover the striker's wages and include an £38.9m (€45m) buy option clause.

Apparently, Hojlund is currently insisting on staying at Old Trafford despite not playing in Saturday's friendly against Fiorentina in addition to the arrival of Benjamin Sesko.

Arsenal's pursuit of Eberechi Eze may have been handed a huge boost with Al Ahli completing the signing of Enzo Millot from Stuttgart.

As announced by Al Ahli and the Bundesliga outfit on Saturday, Millot has signed a three-year deal with the Saudi Pro League club.

His departure leaves Stuttgart on the market for a replacement and Standard Sport reported earlier in the week that they have held talks with Arsenal over a deal for Fabio Vieira, which could see the midfielder leave Emirates Stadium permanently.

The Uruguayan, who moved to Anfield back in 2022, completed a switch to Saudi Arabia in a deal worth a reported £56.6million.
