Clubs have shown significant interest in Matthis Abline (22) this summer. Olympique de Marseille submitted a €15m offer earlier in the window, whilst Paris FC recently saw a €25m bid rejected. There has also been interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Eintracht Frankfurt, however, thus far, no club has satisfied FC Nantes’ demands. As per L’Équipe, this situation is now beginning to frustrate the France youth international.

Abline is coming off the back of a breakthrough season and believes that now is the ideal time to seek a new challenge. His entourage state that, during a meeting back in March, Nantes agreed to let Abline leave during the summer window. Nantes deny any such agreement.

Les Canaris are also proving inflexible in talks as they have already sold €40m worth of talent this summer, putting them in a strong financial position. Nantes will therefore only consider a departure for €40m or more. Abline’s price has now been set. Time will tell if the likes of Paris FC or Wolves will be willing to meet it.
