Wolverhampton Wanderers have received a bid from Borussia Dortmund for striker Fabio Silva, with there not being a “huge distance” between the clubs, according to Charlie Gordon of the Daily Express.
From being appointed in December, Vitor Pereira made an immediate impact with Wolves. With Wolves risking a relegation battle with Gary O’Neil before deciding to dismiss the Englishman, Pereira steered the Midlands side well away from the bottom three with a strong second half of the season.
Wolves have, most notably, lost the two players who were arguably their best in the last campaign. Mercurial number 10 Matheus Cunha has joined Manchester United, whilst attack-minded left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri has also moved to Manchester, signing for Pep Guardiola’s City side.
Looking to build ahead of Pereira’s first full season at the helm, Wolves have made three permanent additions to their squad, not including the signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen, who spent last season at Molineux on loan. Wolves have signed Fer Lopez, also of Celta Vigo, and Jhon Arias as depth out wide, while David Moller Wolfe has been recruited to replace Ait-Nouri.
While Wolves will, no doubt, remain in the market for further additions, it would seem that the club may soon have to manage a departure.

Fabio Silva
Charlie Gordon has reported that Borussia Dortmund have submitted an offer to Wolves for Fabio Silva. The bid of £17.3 million, in total, is a little short of what Wolves want for the Portuguese, though Gordon has reported that there is little distance between the valuations “as talks continue.”
Silva joined Wolves in 2020 for £35 million from Porto, becoming the club’s record signing in the process. Still a young player, Silva struggled for consistency in the Premier League, ultimately falling out of the first team and departing the club on a series of loans. Silva has not played any minutes for Wolves since 2023.
For Dortmund, who have been playing in a two-striker formation across pre-season, Silva would offer depth to the likes of Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier, given that Sebastien Haller does not appear to be part of plans for the team going forward, having spent last season away on loan.
Silva, who has been called a "sensation," was never what Wolves hoped he would be, but to recoup such a chunk of the fee they paid for him would allow them to make further moves in the transfer market as they continue to prepare for the new season.
