Leeds United have been active in the transfer window ahead of their Premier League return.

Leeds concluded their pre-season with a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in Dublin, with new signing Anton Stach equalising in the second half.

The draw meant Daniel Farke’s side remained undefeated through their pre-season preparations, as the German looks to bed his new signings in seamlessly after storming to the Championship title last time out.

Leeds open their Premier League campaign against Everton on Monday night, but Farke feels his side may not be ready yet for their top-flight return.

Farke wants attacking signings before end of the window

Defensive signings have dominated the Whites’ window, as Farke looks to avoid repeating his past feat of never surviving in the Premier League.

However, this has seen a lack of signings in the attack, with only Lukas Nmecha arriving in that department on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.

Leeds have only signed one attacker this summer

Farke is worried his attack isn’t strong enough to get the goals needed to survive, even though Leeds scored 95 times last season.

Speaking after the draw with Milan, Farke said: “In comparison to our Championship side, we have not improved the offence.

“To have a squad capable to survive in the top flight, we need to strengthen.

“In the offence, we need some top class signings, not just numbers.

“We need players who improve our squad.”

Leeds need new signings to have any hope of staying up

The gap between the Championship and the Premier League is growing every year, and Leeds provides arguably the greatest chance in years for a promoted side to survive.

However, they are falling behind with their lack of attacking signings, to the point where Sunderland, who finished 24 points behind them last season, are close to overtaking them with their own summer spending spree.

The Yorkshire side have the capabilities to survive with their financial strength, but they need to start using that strength to help their chances.
