JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cameron McCutcheon suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Mike Tomlin said.
McCutcheon had an interception that would have counted taken away from him on a roughing the passer penalty by Isaiahh Loudermilk. It is unclear exactly when the injury happened to the cornerback.
McCutcheon spent the last two seasons with the Rams, where he was on the practice squad for much of that stint. All in all, McCutcheon has played over 200 snaps across two preseasons but has yet to play in a regular season game.
He started his collegiate career at Gardner-Webb in 2018, but eventually transferred to Western Carolina. Over his time with the Catamounts, McCutcheon became a playmaker on the outside, with 10 passes defensed.
He went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, however, but his time with the Rams was enough to showcase that he deserved time in the NFL, and he stayed with the team off and on over the next two seasons.
