Calvert-Lewin takes'drastic action'in a bid to secure dream Man United move

Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has reportedly sacked his agent, with the forward hoping to complete a move to Manchester United on a free transfer this summer.

Calvert-Lewin's Everton contract expired at the end of June, and his future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with a number of Premier League clubs linked with his signature.

Man United have been credited with an interest in the Englishman, with the Red Devils thought to view him as a potential back-up option for the 2025-26 campaign.

According to The Sun, Calvert-Lewin has sacked his agent and has taken charge of his own future, with the striker hoping that he will be able to negotiate a move to Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old scored 71 goals in 274 appearances for Everton, including 57 Premier League goals, and he is expected to join a club in England's top flight for the 2025-26 campaign.

Calvert-Lewin 'looking to negotiate own move' to Man United

Man United announced the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig on Saturday, with the Slovenia international presented to the club's fans ahead of their pre-season friendly with Fiorentina at Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund is also still at the club, but the Denmark international was an unused substitute against Fiorentina, and he is currently being heavily linked with a move to AC Milan.

Should Hojlund leave, it is possible that Man United would look for a low-cost back-up option for Sesko, with Joshua Zirkzee more suited to the number 10 position.

Calvert-Lewin is also believed to be on Aston Villa's radar, while Sunderland are thought to be keen on a player who has scored four times in 11 appearances for the England national team.

Amorim "really happy" to have Sesko at Man United

Sesko is in line to make his debut for Man United in next weekend's Premier League clash with Arsenal, and Amorim has said that he is "really happy" to have the 22-year-old at Old Trafford.

"He has the characteristics that we needed," Amorim told MUTV. "Ben is a player - with all the information that we have - that we need to stop the guy from working, not the opposite!

"So that is also important. He's really young. He's good in the air, he's good at running the channels, good on the ball. I think he has great potential. I think he can improve a lot and, for sure, he is going to feel at home in our club. He has the right character to be in this group, so I'm really happy to have him."

Chido Obi, 17, is another option for Man United in the final third of the field, with the former Arsenal youngster again expected to be in and around the first-team squad this season.
