Man United'planning£61m move'for Serie A midfielder to solve Amorim issue

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a €70m (£61m) offer for Como midfielder Nico Paz.

The 20-year-old came through the youth system at Real Madrid, progressing to first-team level in 2023, and he featured on eight occasions for Los Blancos during the 2023-24 campaign.

Paz joined Como in August 2024 for a reported €6m (£5.2m), with Real Madrid having a 50% sell-on clause, while the Spanish giants will also have the chance to match any offers for the midfielder over the next two years.

Xabi Alonso's side have allegedly turned down the chance to sign Paz this summer, but there has been a host of speculation surrounding the youngster's future of late, with Tottenham Hotspur said to be keen.

Spurs are believed to have had an offer in the region of €40m (£34.5m) turned down by Como, with the Serie A outfit wanting at least €70m (£61m) for a player who excelled during the 2024-25 campaign.

According to Fichajes, Man United view Paz as the ideal addition to their midfield this season, and the Red Devils are prepared to make an offer of €70m (£61m) for his services.

Paz scored six times and registered nine assists in 35 appearances for Como during the 2024-25 campaign.

The midfielder is also now a three-time Argentina international, and a strong 2025-26 season would place him in a strong position to be included in his national team's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Chelsea are also believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation and could decide to enter the race this summer, with Como facing a tough task when it comes to keeping hold of the midfielder.
