Manchester United will begin their Premier League campaign in exactly one week with a clash against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Ruben Amorim finished his pre-season preparations on Saturday afternoon with Manchester United beating Fiorentina via a penalty shootout at Old Trafford.
It means the Red Devils remain unbeaten in pre-season, and will head into the 2025/26 campaign with momentum and confidence.
Amorim has the toughest start in the Premier League of any top-flight manager, so he will be hoping for a strong start against Arsenal next week.
United will be boosted by the £66m arrival of Benjamin Sesko, but Arsenal also have a shiny new centre-forward in Viktor Gyokeres.

Mikel Arteta warns Man United about Viktor Gyokeres threat
United missed out on Gyokeres this summer, with Amorim’s former Sporting star preferring to move to North London rather than reunite with the Portuguese coach in Manchester.
Gyokeres made a £55m move to Arsenal this summer, and the Swedish striker scored his first goal for the club in their latest pre-season win over Athletic Club.
Ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Old Trafford next weekend, Arteta sent a warning to the Red Devils about his new striker.

“I think his goals, his threat, I think he pins both centre-backs. He’s a player that when you leave him with space, one against one he is going to destroy you,” Arteta said.
“So he is going to create a lot of space for us, and in any situation he is a player who can score a goal.”
Ruben Amorim will know all about Viktor Gyokeres
One advantage that United have going into the Arsenal clash is that Amorim knows Gyokeres even better than Arteta will.
Gyokeres scored 66 goals in 68 games under Amorim during their time together in Portugal.
Amorim will know Gyokeres’ weaknesses and will relay that information to his defenders ahead of the Sunday afternoon showdown.

Arteta warned that Gyokeres is a huge threat when one against one, but Amorim’s three-at-the-back system should allow United to double up on the Swede.
Going the other way, Arsenal will have to find a way to cope with United’s new-look attack which includes Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Sesko.
