Leeds United have reportedly turned their attention to a new transfer target after missing out on a deal for Igor Paixao, after Daniel Farke made a promise to fans about their ambition in the market.
Daniel Farke will be pleased with what he has seen from his Leeds United side in pre-season as they build towards a return to the top flight.
A 1-1 draw with AC Milan in front of a packed Aviva Stadium in Dublin means Leeds ended their pre-season campaign unbeaten ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Having struggled in their pursuit of a striker, with Leeds’ long pursuit of Rodrigo Muniz failing to bear fruit, Farke knows Leeds have work to do in the transfer market.
Now, according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have identified a new target, as all eyes turn to the first game of the season.

Leeds United targeting Nico Gonzalez of Juventus
According to the YEP’s Chief Football Writer, Graham Smyth, Leeds have entered the race to sign Juventus winger, Nico Gonzalez.
Left wing remains a priority for Farke, having lost Manor Solomon from his promotion squad and missed out on the signing of Igor Paixao, who eventually joined Marseille.

Now, according to Smyth, Gonzalez is “one of the players of interest out wide” as Leeds look to put the finishing touches to their squad ahead of the new season.
This is not the first time that Gonzalez has been linked with Leeds, with reports suggesting that Marcelo Bielsa wanted to bring the Argentinian to the club after the club’s last promotion-winning season in 2020.
According to FotMob, Gonzalez played 38 games for Juventus last season, scoring five goals and four assists.

Daniel Farke makes Leeds United transfer pledge
Leeds fans will be delighted to see their club named with another big name as the new season draws ever closer.
Whilst the Whites have performed admirably in pre-season, holding Man Utd, Villarreal and Milan to draws, Farke recognises that there is still more work to be done in the market.
Speaking to club media after the Milan game, Farke said: “[It was a] really good performance, but there’s still some stuff we have to do and to prepare our squad in the best possible way, and for that we’re on a good path
“But our business is not finished yet. We need a few more additions, especially in the offence in order to be ready.
“But we are on a good path, the lads have proven this and, right now, the real stuff starts.”
