Manchester United have reportedly received a loan offer worth £4million for out-of-favour striker Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane arrived at the club two years ago, having impressed for Atalanta in Serie A, but could be pushed out of Old Trafford following the arrival of £74m ace Benjamin Sesko.
Speaking about his future earlier in the window, Hojlund said: "I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot, whatever happens. I'm still very young. I think people forget that sometimes. I'm only 22.
"Now it's just about for me to sharpen myself and I've done very well in the pre-season so far. Just focusing on continuing that. Competition is fine with me. It sharpens me. I'm more than ready. I'm feeling sharp, so I'm welcoming everything that comes. I think it's good with competition and it only sharpens the team."
Hojlund was an unused substitute during United's final pre-season friendly with Fiorentina over the weekend, with Ruben Amorim speaking about his current striker situation after the match. He said: "He [Sesko] has the characteristics that we needed. He's really young, he's good in the air, he's good at running the channels. He's good on the whole.
"I think he has great potential, he can improve a lot. For sure, he's going to feel at home in our club, he's the right character to be in this group. So we are really, really happy to have him. At times we struggled [last season] without the reference as a striker... we have a new striker now."
