**Newcastle United are waiting for Brentford to give the green light for Yoane Wissa to leave this summer.**
Brentford are now resigned to losing their 19-goal striker this summer. They were hoping to retain the DR Congo forward's services after losing Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, but Yoane Wissa is determined to get his move.
A stand-off emerged, which has seen Wissa tell Brentford he will not play for them again, as the 28-year-old knows this could be his last chance to get a big move and play Champions League football.
Brentford must now find a replacement to allow Wissa to leave, with Bournemouth's Dango Ouatarra lined up to fill the void.

However, as we're talking about Newcastle United, there has been a late twist with reports now claiming that Liverpool could hijack Newcastle's move. Thankfully, Sky Sports' Keith Downie has shot that down on his YouTube channel, saying that Wissa only has eyes for the Toon.

We can't understand what Liverpool is even doing, looking at Yoane Wissa anyway. Unless Wissa would be instead of Alexander Isak, which makes no sense. It seems like they're just taking the mick, or it was just a mad rumour that made it to the mainstream.
So it looks like this one will happen eventually, with reporters suggesting Yoane Wissa will be a Newcastle player before the start of the season.
We desperately need someone who can net goals in the Premier League right now; our centre-forward options have been less than inspiring this pre-season.
